I’ve noticed something lately that has stirred my attention. I regularly hear people say things like, “I could’ve been…”, or “I could’ve done this but…”. I always think to myself, “COULD’VE, SHOULD’VE, WOULD’VE, DIDN’T!”
I don’t want that to be the story of my life & ministry, and hopefully, neither do you. Here’s a few things to keep in mind:
1. DETERMINE YOUR CORE VALUES
Without a proper value system you will be tempted to compromise the things that really matter most. Once you have determined to be faithful in your relationships, business, etc, it becomes easier to stay on track. We see too much infidelity in public figures today. Where are the Statesmen, the men and women of integrity that we can believe in? STRIVE TO BE ONE!
2. DETERMINE WHAT THE DESTINATION LOOKS LIKE
Once you’ve set proper boundaries and core values, you must decide what the desired destination looks like! How will you know when you get there if you’re not sure where you want to end up? What does success look like?
3. DETERMINE PRIORITIES BASED UPON YOUR VALUE SYSTEM
Now set up your priorities. Learn to say NO! This is a weakness for me. I wish I felt better about telling people no, but I’m not wired that way. I have to really work at it to make sure my priorities stay in check!
4. DETERMINE THE PROPER ACTIONS TO TAKE TODAY!
(KJV) James 2:17-18 “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.”
(KJV) James 2:20 “But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?”
You must be ready to take action based upon your Values, Destination, and Priorities. Without action, it will always be COULD’VE, SHOULD’VE, WOULD’VE, DIDN’T! You might also want to check out this post: ONE THING YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO DO
Instead, let’s say, “COULD’VE, SHOULD’VE, WOULD’VE, ………………..DID!”
