What Do You See?

WHAT DO YOU SEE?

“15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?

16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.”
-2 Kings 6:15-17 (KJV)

The just shall live by faith. They will walk not by sight but by faith. What I see isn’t the entire story. What I can comprehend isn’t all there is! There’s a whole other world of events I can’t see. Faith serves the believer for eyes, and makes him see what others cannot.

I.SATAN WANTS TO BLIND FROM THE HEAVENLY

1. EDEN

“For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.” Genesis 3:5-7 (KJV)

Adam and Eve’s natural eyes were opened but their spiritual eyes became blind. Unholiness became exposed. They saw things they didn’t see before because their nature changed. The devil wants to blind you from an entire side of reality. What the devil didn’t tell them was that even though their natural eyes would be opened, their spiritual eyes would be blinded.

2. SAMSON

Samson had great power in God but he kept playing with the flesh. Samson kept toying with his consecration to God. The devil is constantly tempting him. Eventually, we find him serving the enemy with his eyes put out!

3. NEBUCHADNEZZAR

The great king of Babylon would afflict kings that he captured by putting their eyes out.

“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” – 2 Corinthians 4:4 (KJV)

II.THE NATURAL EYE CANNOT SEE THE HEAVENLY

1.God is everywhere yet blinded eyes can’t see him. The natural eye cannot see heavenly things.

“But he answered and said, every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.” – Matt. 15:13-14

“The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.” – Ephesians 1:18 (KJV)

III. GOD ALONE CAN REVEAL THE HEAVENLY

We can lead the blind, but we cannot make them see; we can put truth before them, but we cannot open their eyes; that work remains with God alone. Some use glasses, telescopes, binoculars, etc, but all in vain, while the eyes are blind. The cure is the Lord alone.

Satan counterfeited this in the garden when he said, “Your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods” – Genesis 3:5.

IV.WHAT DO YOU SEE?

“The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.” – Psalms 34:7 (KJV)

“Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.” – Hebrews 2:8-9 (KJV)

CONCLUSION:

If we can exercise our faith to focus on Jesus and realize that there are things we do not understand, but somewhere in that darkness we can see Jesus, that’s enough. Our prayer and desire should be that our spiritual eyes be opened so that we do not focus so much on the natural. Jesus is all we need !!

UNCLAIMED MIRACLES

UNCLAIMED MIRACLES
READ LUKE 17:11-19

INTRODUCTION:
LEPROSY
In Christ’s day no leper could live in a walled town, though he might in an open village. But wherever he was he was required to have his outer garment rent as a sign of deep grief, to go bareheaded, and to cover his beard with his mantle, as if in lamentation at his own virtual death.

I.THEY WERE LEPERS
They were ordinary men with an extraordinary circumstance. In 2 Kings 5 we are introduced to a man by the name of Naaman. Naaman was captain of the host for the king of Syria, he was a great man and honorable, a mighty man of valour, “but” he was a leper. He was marked not by what great things he had done or by what he had accomplished, but by the fact he was a leper. Compliments and achievements seem to stop at “BUT”.

II. THEY ALL DISPLAYED GREAT FAITH
These lepers all had faith in Jesus and called him Master. They cried out to Him for mercy and believed that he could help them. Christ commanded them to go shew themselves to the priests. As they obeyed Christ command they were made clean.

III. “THEY” DISAPPEARED
They DID perform the minimum. They did just enough to get Christ’s attention and He loved them enough to show them the way to receive their healing. As they were healed they went on their merry way and all but one never even took the time to say thanks to THE HEALER.

IV.”ONE” GLORIFIED GOD
Nine went on their way but one realized what had just happened and “turned back” to say thanks. They were too busy getting back to the life they once knew to return back to the one that healed them. The “one” realized the importance of giving glory to the Lord and cried out with a loud voice glorifying God. We should never be too busy to give God all the glory for what he has done. The church needs to let her testimony be heard EVERYWHERE!! We should never cease to praise Him for ALL He has done for us!!

CONCLUSION:
We may be sick, downtrodden, in distress but if we turn to the Lord and do what He tells us to do, we can be set totally free. We must not ever forget how we got there and how He brought us through. We must “turn back” and thank the Lord every time. We cannot be too busy to recognize He did it all for us and without Him we would still be in the mess we were in before our healing or salvation took place. With Him all things are truly possible to those that believe.

Living to Capacity – Pt 2

LIVING TO CAPACITY
LESSONS FROM THE LIFE OF JOSHUA
PART 2

Joshua 17:14-18
14 And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me [but] one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I [am] a great people, forasmuch as the LORD hath blessed me hitherto?
15 And Joshua answered them, If thou [be] a great people, [then] get thee up to the wood [country], and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee.
16 And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, [both they] who [are] of Bethshean and her towns, and [they] who [are] of the valley of Jezreel.
17 And Joshua spake unto the house of Joseph, [even] to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou [art] a great people, and hast great power: thou shalt not have one lot [only]:
18 But the mountain shall be thine; for it [is] a wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, [and] though they [be] strong.

INTRODUCTION:
PART 2 OF THIS SERIES ON “LIVING TO CAPACITY” DEALS WITH HOW JOSHUA CHALLENGED THE CHILDREN OF JOSEPH AS THEY BOASTED AND COMPLAINED ABOUT EVERYTHING. JOSHUA CHALLENGED THEM TO GET UP AND STOP LIVING ON PAST BLESSINGS. HE ENCOURAGED THEM TO GET OVER THEMSELVES AND TRUST IN THE GOD THAT PROMISED THEM THE LAND.
1. CAUSE FOR COMPLAINT
JUST LIKE US TODAY, THE CHILDREN OF JOSEPH COMPLAINED ABOUT WHAT THEY DIDN’T HAVE. THEY WERE RESTING IN PAST BLESSINGS. THEY FELT IF GOD HAD BLESSED JOSEPH THEN SURELY HE SHOULD BLESS THEM. THEY COULD SEE WHAT THEIR ANCESTORS HAD ACCOMPLISHED AND NOT WHAT GOD WANTED THEM THIS DAY TO ACCOMPLISH. THEY WERE BOASTING THAT THEY WERE OF THE SAME FAMILY AS JOSHUA AND THAT THERE SHOULD BE SOME CONSIDERATION IN THAT FACT. ASSOCIATIONS AND MEMBERSHIPS HOLD LITTLE TO NO WEIGHT IN HEAVEN.
THEY BOASTED IN THEIR GREATNESS. THEY SAW THEMSELVES AS GREAT AND TO THEM THAT SHOULD ACCOUNT FOR SOMETHING. GOD DOESN’T LOOK AT WHO WE ARE OR WHERE WE CAME FROM BUT WHO WE ARE IN HIM AND WHERE WE ARE GOING IN HIM. IF WE GAIN THE WHOLE WORLD BUT LOSE OUR SOUL IT PROFITS NOTHING!
ROMANS 12:3 – “FOR I SAY, THROUGH THE GRACE GIVEN UNTO ME, TO EVERY MAN THAT IS AMONG YOU, NOT TO THINK OF HIMSELF MORE HIGHLY THAN HE OUGHT TO THINK; BUT TO THINK SOBERLY, ACCORDING AS GOD HATH DEALT TO EVERY MAN THE MEASURE OF FAITH.”

2. CALL FOR CONQUEST
JOSHUA TOLD THEM TO GET UP AND CUT DOWN FOR THEMSELVES WOOD IN THE LAND OF THE PERIZZITES AND OF THE GIANTS, IF MOUNT EPHRAIM BE TOO NARROW FOR THEM. WOOD REPRESENTS WHAT GROWS NATURALLY . WOOD CLUTTERED THEIR PROGRESS. NATURAL MEANS FLESH, SIN, ETC. JOSHUA TOLD THEM TO GET BUSY AND GET IT OUT OF THEIR WAY. WE ARE TO GET ANYTHING THAT CLUTTERS OUR MIND, OUR VISION, OUR GOALS IN LIFE OUT OF OUR WAY SO WE CAN SEE WHAT’S REALLY IMPORTANT. HE WANTS US TO CONQUER OURSELVES FIRST. IF WE WANT MORE OF JESUS- CLEAR MORE LAND!!!
WE ARE TO CONQUER THE ENEMY. WHEN GOD GIVES US A PROMISE AND WE KNOW IT’S GOD WE SHOULD AT ALL COST PRESS TOWARD THE MARK. GOD PROMISED THEM THAT WHEREVER THE SOLE OF THEIR FEET TROD IT WOULD BE THEIRS. THAT’S ALL THEY NEEDED TO KNOW. NO MATTER WHAT THEY HAD TO GO THROUGH THEY WERE TO KEEP THEIR EYES ON THE PROMISE. GOD HAD ALREADY GIVEN IT TO THEM, BUT THEY HAD TO GO THROUGH SOME “STUFF” TO GET TO IT, BUT IT WAS ALL WORTH IT IN THE END!!

LIVING TO CAPACITY – PT 1

20121106-115149.jpg

LESSONS FROM THE LIFE OF JOSHUA
THE LAST FEW WEEKS, I HAVE BEEN TEACHING A SERIES ON “LIVING TO CAPACITY”. HOW MANY OF US REALLY LIVE OUR LIVES TO THE CAPACITY THAT GOD WANTS US TO LIVE? BY OBEDIENCE, TRUST, AND PRAYER JOSHUA BECAME THE RECEPIENT OF EVERYTHING THAT GOD HAD PROMISED HIM. ARE WE LIVING TO CAPACITY?

1. FAITHFULNESS
JOSHUA WAS A FAITHFUL MINISTER. THE WORD “MINISTER” MEANS TO SERVE, ATTEND, OR CONTRIBUTE. JOSHUA WAS FAITHFUL TO THE LORD AND OBEYED. JESUS HIMSELF WAS FAITHFUL. HE WAS SUBJECT TO HIS PARENTS. HE WAS “FAITHFUL” IN THE LITTLE THINGS FOR 30 YEARS. THE FATHER STATED “MY BELOVED SON…WELL PLEASED.”
MATTHEW 25:21 “HIS LORD SAID UNTO HIM, WELL DONE, THOU GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT: THOU HAST BEEN FAITHFUL OVER A FEW THINGS, I WILL MAKE THEE RULER OVER MANY THINGS: ENTER THOU INTO THE JOY OF THY LORD.”

2. DISTINCT CALL
JOSHUA 1:5 SAYS “THERE SHALL NOT ANY MAN BE ABLE TO STAND BEFORE THEE ALL THE DAYS OF THY LIFE: AS I WAS WITH MOSES, SO I WILL BE WITH THEE: I WILL NOT FAIL THEE, NOR FORSAKE THEE.” WHAT AN AWESOME PROMISE THAT GOD GIVES TO HIS CHILDREN.IF WE ASK IT WILL BE GIVEN AND IF WE ASK IN HIS NAME IT SHALL BE DONE. IF WE FOLLOW THE CALL OF GOD, KNOW THAT HE WANTS US TO SUCEED AND BE BLESSED ABUNDANTLY. HE WANTS US TO EXPERIENCE HIS POWER IN OUR LIVES. HE WANTS US TO HAVE ALL THAT HE HAS PROMISED.
PHILLIPIANS 3:14 SAYS “I PRESS TOWARD THE MARK FOR THE PRIZE OF THE HIGH CALLING OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS. WE ARE TO PRESS, PUSH, AND GO FORWARD WITH THE CALLING HE HAS PLACED ON US SO THAT HIS WILL CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH US. THIS CALLING IS NOT OF OUR WORKS, BUT ACCORDING TO HIS OWN PURPOSE AND GRACE.

3. INDWELLING WORD OF GOD
JOSHUA 1:8 SAYS “THIS BOOK OF THE LAW SHALL NOT DEPART OUT OF THY MOUTH; BUT THOU SHALT MEDITATE THEREIN DAY AND NIGHT, THAT THOU MAYEST OBSERVE TO DO ACCORDING TO ALL THAT IS WRITTEN THEREIN: FOR THEN THOU SHALT MAKE THY WAY PROSPEROUS, AND THEN THOU SHALT HAVE GOOD SUCCESS.”
THERE ARE NO SHORTCUTS! WE ARE TO MEDITATE DAY & NIGHT!

CONCLUSION:
WE RARELY LIVE TO THE CAPACITY THAT GOD EXPECTS US TO LIVE .WHAT WOULD OUR LIVES BE LIKE IF WE TOTALLY SURRENDERED TO THE LORD IN OUR MINISTRY, IN OUR DAILY LIVING, AND IN THE INDWELLING OF THE LORD IN OUR LIVES? HOW MUCH RICHER WOULD OUR LIVES BE IF WE TRUSTED IN HIS WORD TOTALLY WITHOUT RESERVATION AND IN THE POWER OF PRAYER?
WE NEED TO STUDY THE BIBLE FROM COVER TO COVER, GENESIS TO REVELATION. DO YOU REALIZE THAT THE MAJORITY OF THE BIBLE WAS NOT WRITTEN FOR THE CONVERSION OF SINNERS BUT FOR THE PERFECTING OF THE SAINTS?

ARE YOU LIVING TO CAPACITY? I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING YOUR THOUGHTS IN THE COMMENTS SECTION!
